    Hey I’m new at this game! I have several hundred hours in a site, just to see the recent announcement from Google and Yahoo! I had just put my site up when this started. I took my site down, until I could get real answers. Are people still hosting there sites in the US or do you plan to host offshore? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have to much invested just to forget the project!

    Many Thanks;

    That is a huge question. I suggest you invest a few hours in reading posts here – you will find a ton of information.

    I surely have opinions on your questions – but if I were to answer them directly I would be dispensing legal advice and that is illegal.

    I am sure reading here will tell you what you want to do or not do.

    I think the answer is no one knows yet.

    Mostly what you’ll read on the forum is conjecture, since no one has a crystal ball.

    Yes, people are still hosting in the u.s., but you’d be well advised to host in another country, just to be on the safe side.

    My sites are hosted in Canada.

    The competition is tightening considerably with the loss of google and yahoo – the race is on for SEO, and it’ll be a tough one.

    There are other pay for click services, which most of us are using, I am sure.

    Get out of the business while you can … bad bad timing.

    This has happened before, but my gut instinct is that this time Overture and Google will not cave in and allow gambling ads again when things get tough.

    But all is not lost. Get your traffic “the old fashioned way.”

    Learn SEO, exchange links, get creative with online and offline promotion that does not involve using a major PPC search engine.

    Hey Mariner’s Fan,

    You (or anyone else for that matter) wouldn’t happen to know a good resource for learning how to optimize a website for this, would you?

    :rolleyes: …aside from the Search Engine Optimiztion Forum, that is.

    Other than SEO, which is becoming more and more important all the time, this is probably one of the best forums around if you want to learn how to promote a gambling website. There are lots of experienced webmasters and I suggest you just make a post asking for advice on how to build a content-rich site that other webmasters will want to exchange links to.
