CPA Vrs Revenue Share

PokerTitan asked 3 years ago
I’m interested to know what commission formats work best for you guys when it comes to poker programs.
Do you find you earn more money through CPA’s or Revenue share,
or is it neither here nor there.

Well, i’ve started rhyming now so time for my medicine.

I imagine there is a chance that we would make more with rev share as traffic quality is good but our operational costs are quite high and we need to keep monthly profit above a certain minimum.

I’d imagine that Casino would be hot on Rev Share and CPA would be best for Poker but i’ve been wrong before when i said online gambling was a fad.

Surely its largely down to your content and demographic? If you promote based on bonuses etc, then yes I would imagine CPA would probably work best. Similarly, if you were not giving a player all the info they needed to make the right choice of poker room, or just giving them the standard promo spiel about how great it is, then again CPA would probably be better, because at some point they will probably discover a better option for them and move on.

But if your information is good enough to make sure they get the room that suits them, or if you are not selling to “bonus” traffic but to a demographic consisting of serious or experienced players, then I would have thought Rev Share would blow CPA away.

I’ve been lead to believe that when a “serious” poker player finds a good room that suits them, they are likely to stay more loyal than your average casino player. Probably because the casino player sees “luck” as more of a factor.

I am new to the poker side but that just seems like common sense, in any type of gambling market. So surely its down to the webmaster / website / content / target audience as to which works best?

I would like to work with revenue share mode. I think it is fair case win win situation.

Hi casinoalerts, to be honest, the biggest margins affiliate programmes earn is out of CPA deals.

If you work for an operator that retains their players well and guarantees high life time value per player, CPA is a one off fee that you make back quite quickly.

Revenue Share is more expensive for good operators but keeps affiliates happy – which is the main thing.

It depends on the operator you are promoting and the deal you have but I would choose rev share if I was an affiliate. If it was a good promotion from an average operator, I would then take the CPA option :wink-wink

But Chris you say that cos you are an affilaite manager he he! but i love you and am on rev share with you guys

I have to say interesting though (and thanks for the advice) the CPA on poker I think that I am going to revert to that. Saying that bingo is quite good on a rev share I think if you pick the right brand. surely its more about picking the right brand to work with – if they are good at retention and conversion you will make more on rev share. I would make more on one site for bingo taking rev share than CPA wheareas another site I have 22 depositing players and I have made £22 in rev share which has to be wrong

Rev Share is the way to go – been seeing Affiliate revenues for 4 years now and the highest earners are always rev share affiliates

For bingo – revenue share is the way to go for the long term picture. Though I have been burned a few times by programs making “improvements” which tend to result in sudden loss of continued revenue from existing players.

Albert Einstein, a fellow jew said it best.
It’s all relative, if I had to just answer for myself I’d say rev share becuase its gradual earnings possibility and it’s better in the long run.
But it all depends on the traffic you have and a good affliliate should know what’s best for him… never the less you should check the rev share deals we offer on October :wink-wink.

My vote is that there’s not much difference between the two because the difference is in the affiliate and his traffic.

And we all know that we’re not really here for the money..:santa2:

What about Sportsbooks?
From what I’ve seen a lot of American / UK friendly sportsbooks offer revshare while most continental European friendly sportsbooks offer CPA.. wondering if people actually wager a lot on sports and lose online.

Most likely this is due to the ability Europeans have to gamble with their credit cards. I assume the player values are very high and the casino/sportsbook would rather pay $300 and be done with the affiliate <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
