I run a phpbb forum, and over the last three weeks I’ve had tons of ppl register just to put a link in their member profile. Does the SE’s pick this up? I’ve been deleting the links but they are coming at an alarming rate.
My next dilema is I checked my stats today and the number one term used over the last week to get to my site is “free porno”….WHAT THE HELL?
No I do not have that term anywhere in my website, and I’m assuming something blackhat is going on….any advice?June 1, 2006 at 9:19 pm #694024AnonymousInactiveMy next dilema is I checked my stats today and the number one term used over the last week to get to my site is “free porno“….
Weblog Spamming. Any consolation I am getting that turn up in several of my weblogs too.

June 1, 2006 at 10:41 pm #694035AnonymousInactiveTry going through all the profiles of people who signed up.
Eliminate all www. and email addies that contain porno and other unwanted keywords.
I have to do this all the time.

ban them on ipJune 2, 2006 at 2:11 am #694087AnonymousInactiveI was under the impression that I couldn’t ban an ip (or even get an ip address) if they don’t make a post in the forum (am I mistaken here?),
As well does that mean that the se’s pick up keywords and links just from my member list, even if they don’t have a signature in any posts in my forum?
June 21, 2006 at 1:17 pm #696264AnonymousInactivei am not sure if the memberslist is crawled
but u can exclude it from crwawling in a robot.txtanyway, i can see only their ip if they are online,
very hard to catch -
