10 Newbie Questions
Q1 Incentives – do you use them? How do you do it? This seems like something I’d be prepared to do, basically offer a percentage of the CPA for a new signup.
Q2 Do affiliate programs all update every 24 hours? I have not started so don’t know what kind of back office setup there is.
Q3 New signups, what is the industry norm to qualify for an affliate commision? e.g. players deposit $50 and some wagering?
Q4 What if a player requests not to recieve a bonus then deposits, do they count as a new signup? – I’ve actually done this so I could withdraw at will and not be subject to wagering requirements (may sound odd to some of you)
Q5 After all the developements of Neteller, I’m outside the US, do you think its a good idea to work with Neteller?
Q6 Can banner adverts function in pdf files, just like if it were from a website? Do cookies work in the same way regardless of what medium the banner is appearing?
Q7 Some programs have multiple casinos. In the back office of most programs does it show players and which casino they deposited into? If one person deposited into 3 casinos under the same affliate program would you get 3 commisions?
Q8 In the back office of most programs does it separate people who have just downloaded from people who have downloaded and deposited?
Q9 When you first started your affliate website from scratch, what did you show on your site when applying to be part of the first affliate program? e.g. you couldn’t have any casino banners as you didn’t have any.
Q10 Are certified programs on CAP your first choices when it comes to choosing an affliate program.
Thanks for reading my 10 questions. I’m open to hearing numerous answers from different people for each question. If you can use the numbering of each question in your answers that will make it easier.

As to Q9, I would suggest that you start with very few programs to begin with. I joined every aff program I could find and was overwhelmed. Start slow and add pages as you work your way up. There are several programs available that cater to nearly all types of gamblers. (casino, poker, bingo, sports) I believe those programs to be the best to start with.
2nd part:
Many affiliate programs would let you register with out ever visiting your site. Just owning a website/ domian might just be good enough.Q10
Aside from PartyPartners (owes me for a long time) I would recommend any CAP program as GOOD! CAP certified programs are generally programs that actually participate in resolving issues and PAYs when money is due.
Times are changing for the industry, with programs coming and going- allowing US play or not, many things to keep us at the least bit entertained lol.

I can answer #6 – Do banners work in PDF files? yes.
I’d stick with text links in pdf files. Banners are always changing and bloat the pdf file. I added the casino logos to mine in the last pass and they really made it much bigger.
They’ll track but you may want to add the sub-campaign to your affiliate id tags so you can track where the clicks from.

considering the recent shut-down of NETeller for US players (80% the market) … I’d not be in any hurry to invest a lot of time and money towards a niche that seriously is looking at some troublesome times ahead before they get better.
I’m sure there are those who will disagree. And I’d not have said this before yesterday but I truly believe there’s going to be some very rough roads ahead before they smooth out … if ever.
Not trying to run you out because I’m afraid of competition, just trying to perhaps save you a lot of disappointment if you’re seeking any kind of near-future rewards.
Just my 2 cents.
i can understand your point bb1webs. however – since this is a completely new affiliate, he/she can immediately start off targeting different markets.
I know that the US is the major market, but if you soley market to the rest of the world (where it is allowed), then you will earn 100% of your earnings outside the US and not rely on the changes there.

Q10 I will always look to see if a program is CAP certified. After I will check all comments made by other webmasters in relation to the program. Then I would make an educated decision whether or not to sign on with them.
Q5 If you are a resident outside the U.S I beleive Neteller is still a viable option. This is providing they don’t go broke given the recent developments.
I have one question for yourself. You not from the the FBI are you? Not that it matters just curious.

This is a tricky area. I don’t use them, but I understand that it is best to get approval from the affiliate program first before offering them, especially if you are on a CPA commission model.greek39 wrote:I have one question for yourself. Greek39, yeah I was waiting a while for these to be answered lol. Re Q5, I have a Neteller account but never used it as my bank wouldn’t let me do a wire transfer deposit. If i receive affliate commisions via neteller then I can use it i guess?
Squigley, Re Q1, I may just ask the affliate programs about the incentives first. I did read somewhere that new deposits have to be higher or something?

Yes, I think you would need to run any incentive offer by the program in question before offering it. I imagine the requirements will vary according to the program.
As you seem nice, I’ll have a go at answering question 2.
The affiliate program backend update rates vary. I’m more used to poker programs, so for example poker.com seems to update in real time whereas programs like ultimatebet update every 24 hours.
