    From CNN:

“Democrats will take control of the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time since the 1994 Republican Revolution, CNN projects.

Democratic challengers have also picked up three seats in the Senate, CNN projects. They need a net gain of six seats to take the Senate. “

    hallelujah !!

If you’re not from this country, you might rejoice. But, if you’re from this country, the next 2 years will be a waste. People just couldn’t wait for 2008 to throw them out.

Not from the US. What do you mean “a waste”?

    Woohoo! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Ok this is an excellent start. In 2008 we have to complete the job and take back America!

I don’t live in the US , but I think he’s talking about the “lame duck” period.

It means a president with few support in congress/folks.

So you mean Bush will have a hard time?

    That sounds good to me.

And then they can start putting an end to “prohibition”. Maybe with better people at the helm the US and the UK can both agree to regulate rather than to outlaw online gambling.

#1, if US waited for 2 years, none of us would be able to live here!!

#2, this is just the start, not the end of the changes that need to be made. Down the road, the online gambling issue will come to light, and there will be a different mood then.

By a waste, I mean nothing will get done for 2 years. Including the changes that are needed. They will just fight amonst themselves since the Dems and Reps are almost equal in number even though the Dems now out number the Reps in Congress.

While I agree that there will be the customary bickering after an election; I think the democrats are going to come in with something to prove. If they dont they are looking to lose in 08 so I’m relatively certain they will come in working hard.

There was also talk that if they won they would look to impeach Bush, but lord Im sure they dont want that idiotic VP in charge so I dont see, or I hope I dont see them wasting the time.

I say impeach them both at the same time.

At least now there is a potential for change, where with things staying as they were, no possibility existed at all!! Sounds like sour grapes to me.

We can try to stop the bleeding, and apply some pressure to people who actually listen. What kind of shape do you think this country would be in if we simply allowed things to continue as they were? Wake up and think!

I believe it’s a waste of time right now, unless something we don’t know comes out. Cheney more than Bush, as regards that secret meeting he had with all the oil tycoons when he first came into office. What actually happened in that meeting? What was said? Look at what has happend with regards to oil prices, Enron, and oil subsidies since they came into office. No coincidence in my opinion.

I have always thought that Cheney and Karl Rove really were in charge all along.

I think W is just a semi likeable buffoon that they let take the heat and act as a front man.

They send him to the ranch in Texas when they dont need him and bring him out to parade before the press when its convenient or expediant to do so.
