    mmm . this came out a few days ago.

    Its all to do with the face that the charge of “gambling by computer” is only an offence in Louisiana and the New York judge said there was not federal mandate to justifiy the warrant for extradition.

    I note that the article says … “Louisiana’s warrant to arrest Dicks on the same charges remains active” so if Peter Dicks did ever visit Louisiana then they would arrest him there.

    So I don’t think that anyone “gave up on it” – simply that the reach of Louisiana law does not extend beyond state boundaries.

    (which is just as well as we’re all probably guilty of “gambling by computer” ).
