I know about content scraping, unfortunately it happens a lot…just read Dominique’s thread about this But I’ve never come across this before….
As from yesterday I checked my stats and noticed I had hits coming from a adult site, which I found strange, so i went in to see why my link had been placed on there. However there was no link and the site looks like it is being constructed and noticed that the site (colours, font, etc) was identical to mine ( http://www.bingopower.co.uk ). I looked at the source carefully and found that the whole template and css has been copied, and they are even importing css file! So they are sponging that and also a couple of images….

What can I do about this? I dont want them continuing and using up my bandwidth or worse! Also what possible reppercussions could this have with search engines?
Looks like he’s stealing your template and redoing it.
Not sure what else he may be doing.
Rather than scraping, sites that are showing up as referrers, yet you see no link to your site on theirs, are most likely doing something known as Referer log spamming.
In this case, though, your referrals are probably coming via when that site accesses the css on your server.
Mostly likeyly a case of a n00b webmaster building a site, ignorant of the ways of the web. Email and enlighten. I doubt this is a malicious act.
I wouldn’t call it scraping, but if it is your template (not a free or sold one) it might be theft…
It would apear the site in question loads your style sheet, but then has it also listed in the head. I don’t understand why they would do this.

If it were me…. I would mess with them. Here is a fun idea
Change your pages to use the same stylesheet with a different name. THEN, change that original stylesheet to move all of their shit around the screen. That’ll confuse the crap out of a shitty designer! And, it will be so much fun watching them try to figure it out.

Messing with that webmaster should be quite simple since they obviously only know how to change graphics. Otherwise, they wouldnt’ be hotlinking to a stylesheet. idiots!Seems like there are more and more of them out there
