Ok, there has been a lot of talk about the site-scraping ( Web scraping is defined as a web crawler that copies content from one or more existing websites in order to generate a scraper site. ).
I have no solution about how to avoid being scraped – I think it will happen sooner or later.

But here is how you can get scraped and still go by your business:

    1.) Start with a small website – 3-4 pages.
2.) Get it indexed by the search engines (prefferably by backlinks)
3.) After your website is indexed – start adding 1 to 2 pages a day of small content – nothing fancy – maybe casino reviews or game rules.
4.) while doing that – keep an eye on the search engines – when you see that they start crawling your website on a regular basis (once every 1-3 days) – your are all set – you can start publishing your content without worring about scrapers. They will come soon after, but you dont have to worry – your website will not get banned for duplicate content as the search engines will find it on your website first.

By doing that, you are also making sure your website is properly indexed.

And another thing – if a website uses a snipet from your website and links to you from the same page – it’s not scraping, it will not hurt you – on the contrary – it will help you. If this was not true – there would be no news websites left :wink-wink I invite everyone to use our RSS feed and add snippets of our news with link to them from their websites.

Hope it helped ease your minds

That is good advice for anyone anyway.

But definitely you must help eradicate scrapers.

They will block young and coming quality sites from rising up by creating a layer of spam that is impenetrable for smaller sites.

If programs stop paying these thieves they will just go away.

Don’t support these programs by making money for them to pay the thieves with, you are biting yourself and losing all the way.
