You expect a list of affiliates who have been dropped from the program?

If my name were on such a list and it was published publicly I would sue 888, wouldn't you?
I think a better gauge of real progress is when we see that scrapers are no longer directing their traffic to 888. Once we see that take place we will KNOW that these new guidelines are actually being enforced and arent merely a Public Relations exercise

It would certainly be fun to have, but if I were on it, I sure would be upset.
I understand it was a large number, like 50.
Well, the thing to do is to turn in any 888 and Pacific Poker spamdexed sites we find and wait to see if they and the related sites disappear.
There is little else 888 can do to prove anything and little else we can do to verify.
While it makes sense for 888 to ask us the send it to them, especially since they don't have their own forum here anymore, we should still share results so we can keep track.
Actions will speak for themselves.dominique

a very good and positive step IMO.
I do hope that 888 continues down this path.
Anyone have any suggestions about how long we should all wait before we start pulling or editing the 888 rogue stuff? Maybe a month "after we see some real progress?"

I want to see at least one real action.
After that I will put 888 on probation and watch for more action and no new spamdexing appearing, because hopefully 888 will screen new affiliates for such things.
After that I will remove the rogueging entirely.dominique

Leave it up until we see some concrete results. The statement made by 888 is very encouraging, for sure, and I am happy to see 888 working toward fixing the problem. That said, I think it is much too soon to be taking anything down.

They have had those new terms and links on their pages up for at least a week or more, so this new statement does nothing more than reiterate what we already knew.
They dont seem to have put much thought into their new system, as its quoted differently in this statement and on their website. The Nicolas statement here states that they will send out a warning to affiliates. On the website policy it states that they "will immediately be placed under review and any commissions due to him will be withheld, until further investigation can be completed."
They have in the past stated they would address items, I wish I could link you to their old forum (maybe its in the attic) but time after time they said they would investigate items we gave them just as they have with this new letter. The only difference now is that they put up a policy and a reporting link on their site. Thus, until positive changes are witnessed I will assume its business as usual.
I just dont see them forcing their top affiliates, to follow their new policies. I hope I am wrong.Last edited by axl; 06-28-2006 at 01:50 PM.

Well, one of the things I wanted was for them to amend their T & C's to cover scraping and other illegal activities by their affiliates. They have had those new terms and links on their pages up for at least a week or more, so this new statement does nothing more than reiterate what we already knew.
They have now legally committed themselves to kicking out any individual from their affiliate program, who are caught scraping on two counts.
Their failure to implement this in the past, was one of the reasons I rogued them and also I believe one of the factors, as to why CAP removed their certified program status.
They have now made good on that.
That is good enough for me to remove their roguing.
