Thread: 888 Casino Update - Page 14

Goldfinger
Goldfinger perhaps you are right, and old story indeed. However, for me this problem is burnt into my mind. I see it, think it, believe it everyday when I start probing. I see honest people doing honest work being destroyed by dishonest people and ask why? can I possibly make a difference?.
There is no fame, glory, financial gain I seek, in fact gloating is against my life standards. I find no solice in being the one who did this or that, it don't matter to me. What does matter is knowing possibly I made a difference. If I happen to make a difference you won't hear it coming from me.
This is more than an "old story" my friend. To give up and walk away from this issue would be a blunder of blunders. "there hasn't a been meaningful punishment as of yet" I agree, perhaps only a dent. I see people giving up on this isssue, perhaps this would be the anticipated response 888 would like?
Eventually this situation will get resolved in a meaningful way. If you do not believe something "meaningful" can be done, then tear down the rogue pages and move on. Many have already done so, I personally don't give up.

I´ll keep these rogue pages up until they start to rot or 888 changes its ways. Perseverance is the key. Keep the good work up.

Goldfinger,
I applaud your candor and your dedication of a page to this, but realistically and practically, does this really accomplish anything other than a place to vent ?
The casinos are useless in regard to allocating resources to deter such behavior. The support of this is erratic and promissary at best.
The root of the problem are the search engines themselves, and until they actually do anything about it, the problem is only going to get worse. The cheats chase the money, and they have found a luicrative area. I don't believe the search engines are looking at the big picture at all, and this problem will only get worse before it gets better. - 08-12-2006 01:11 PM #135
Well, the search engine provide the playing field for this BS. However, I believe that the problem is exacerbated by a few programs who are prepared to turn a blind eye to illicit activities and prefer to profit from them rather than building long term relationships.
Getting the spam onto the SERPS and generating big traffic is one thing. Being able to monetize this traffic with the help of unethical affiliate programs makes this a winning proposition for spammers (let´s have a little blackhat SEO contest, shall we?). I can´t reform Google but I sure can put a bit of pressure on the programs that think they can continuously outsmart honest affiliates.submit your articles to this article directory for backlinks - 08-12-2006 01:24 PM #136Senior Member

Goldfinger,
Nothing for nothing, I don't think any of the Casino sites really care if they pay commission to you (an honest webmaster) or to some rogue, spammy websmaster. The bottom line for them is money. Sure, the PR they hand us are "Terms and Agreements", "violations of Agreement", "long term relationship", etc., but the bottom line for these guys is cash. They look at it from a very short-term perspective, and IF (and yes, I say IF) the Search Engines clean up their act, and you/I are long gone due to their unethical practices, there will be a 1,000 other new affiliates waiting to step in and take our place. Demand is high; these affiliate programs will never starve for clientele.
Listen, I am as distraught as you are about this spamming epidemic, but in my eyes, the root of fixing the problem lies entirely with Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Unless they make headway, and I don't believe they will, this business will be over-run by these spamsters. I equate this to the Mafia taking over the business -- they are the thugs of the Internet, but they still pay their bills and make money for everybody. Hence, everyone looks the other way.
Unless you have some inside contacts at Google, et al, I think this party is coming to an abrupt close.
Not to be unduly pessimistic; but I am just a realist, looking at things from the big picture. I am doing what I can to combat it, but I think this epidemic animal is way too big for you and me to tackle.Last edited by Poker Dude; 08-12-2006 at 01:26 PM.

I intend to milk eCogra for all it's worth for the players and then a very very distant second - the industry - and I don't mean as ad copy.
It's about time the webmasters started using the PR machine built by 888 and Micro to affect change on them in all aspects "regulatory", not just what they spoon feed in press releases.
888/CON is rogue, Pacific, Grief Club, 21Casino, Cassava, but not Ecogra.Last edited by joeyl; 08-12-2006 at 11:01 PM.
