Ive only had my site a few weeks but done a lot of work with building links and getting listed.
Today i checked some page rank prediction on it and was pleased with result
todayspoker.info Backlinks 306 Predicted PR4
Are they unreliable or will it get at least a 4 on next update.

Results: Your current Google PageRank is 6. Based on our calculations, we predict your future PageRank after the next Google update will be 10.
June 19, 2006 at 12:39 pm #695972AnonymousInactiveLOL thats that question answerd isnt it onlu google and 1 or 2 other sites with pr10
June 19, 2006 at 12:45 pm #695974AnonymousInactiveI seriously doubt that I will get PR10 – all they base it on is the backlinks (number + PR). If I do – more for me, but I dont expect more than PR7, in my wildest dreams – PR8.
The best way I have found out to check your future PR is by adding Sitemaps to your site.
Google does divide the pagerank into four cats:
a) Low
b) Medium
c) High
d) Not assignedLow is from PR0 to PR3
and I know medium is from PR4 to at least PR6 – I have no way to validate the last figure, since I dont have PR7 to compare, but I should know more after the next updateAnyhow, it seems that Google will assign PR on the Sitemaps, without showing it on the toolbar, so you can always see if your pages are in any of the four parameters above. If you have a green on Medium for all your pages, you would not know if they’d be PR4 or PR6, but it’s all in the same category anyways.
Hope it helped.

That’s a good oneJune 20, 2006 at 5:19 pm #696146AnonymousInactiveGoogles PageRank (Named after Larry Page – not after your position in the SERP)
… is all but meaningless now.
Big Daddy killed PR…
June 20, 2006 at 5:20 pm #696147AnonymousInactiveHaving a Google sitemap has little to do with your PR score. PR is calculated by the number of sites linking to you and the PR of the pages linking to you. A sitemap can help if it points out pages that Google wasn’t finding in the first place, since you would likely have a link back to your home page accounting for another link to your site.
Those PR prediction tools are worthless, especially when they can’t even predict your current PR.
June 20, 2006 at 5:22 pm #696148AnonymousInactiveI agree with webber PR predictions tools are worthless, just like the the 30 day weather forcast. greek39

PR itself is now worthless.
Googles Big Daddy hardware update killed PR dead.
The quest for PR is time and money wasted.

A subtle way to enforce webmaster to have their Toolbar installed in our PC……….
Don’t be concerned about PR.
Some people says that there are about 100 more factors to rank a pageJune 20, 2006 at 5:58 pm #696157AnonymousInactiveI beg to differ…:dajudge:
PR is not meaningless, it’s just missunderstood.
As I mentioned above, PR is div into 3 categories:
Low, Medium and High, and this is how important your page is. Not how relevant to a keyword you page is. – you might think your page is of high importance for “gambling” but Google might think it’s for “blackjack games”, therefore if you have PR8 – you might show top for blackjack games, but not for gambling… Or Google might think your PR8 is highly important in general, but not for any specific keyword – therefore your PR8 home page ranks nowhere in top results, but inner pages linked from your home page do.Here is an example to make it easier:
xhttp://www.gamblingphd.com/news/index.htm PR7 – ranks not so good.xhttp://www.gamblingphd.com/ PR5 – ranks good
Sorry to the PHD-dude
And I did not say that Sitemaps will help you get high PR, but that Sitemaps will show you in which of the 3 categories your newly indexed pages will fall.
June 20, 2006 at 7:01 pm #696166AnonymousInactiveit’s just missunderstood…
Now thats a fact!
And you have really totally misunderstood it. Misunderstood is not really the correct word… You have just made up your own ‘fantasy’ PageRank.
PHD… my ass
I was an SEO before there were SEOs…
And I can say without a doubt, you have made up your own little PageRank world that in no way resembles the real world or real google PageRank.
BTW… google says there are now over 200 factors they look at when ranking a page in the SERP.

Yep. I totally agree.
June 20, 2006 at 8:44 pm #696181AnonymousInactiveWow, take it easy man, it’s not that deep :hehe:
PR is still important – not many people would exchange links with you if you have a PR0 showing
And I have never seen a PR2 page ranking at the top 10 for “online gambling”, let say, unless is the regular few-days-google-f*ck-upI personally dont care for PR, in a way that if it’s a PR4 or higher – it’s good with me. And I still love the green bar, and I’d like to have it as green as possible. There would be different opinions on this, and it’s all good.
More green for everyone :rasta:
